The decade-old Ennore Manali Road Improvement Project (EMRIP) will be completed by the year-end, according to Highways Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. After missing several deadlines, the Rs 600-crore project was launched by Union Shipping Minister GK Vasan in January 2011.

TN to spend Rs 82.33 cr for NH upgradation
A series of road projects have been announced by the Tamil Nadu Government on April 15, including upgradation activities. The State Highways and Minor Ports Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami told the State Assembly that Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had directed upgradation of 81.27 km of National Highways at an estimated sum of Rs 82.33 crore.
Rs 14.50 cr for bypass roads in TN’s Kancheepuram area
In Tamil Nadu, Walajabad and Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram area will get bypass roads to relieve the towns of traffic congestion, the State Highways Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said recently. Moving the demands for the department in the Assembly, he said that Rs.14.50 crore has been sanctioned for the projects.
