NMPT woos exporters from Shimoga
Officials of New Mangalore Port have held consultations with exporters from the Shimoga region and asked them to utilise the facilities available at port. The port is said to be targeting the region to boost its container traffic. Krishnapatnam Port setting up new berth
Krishnapatnam Port is constructing a roll-on roll-off berth in the south terminal in order to handle export of cars manufactured in Chennai and Bangalore regions. Krishnapatnam port handled 13.8 mn t cargo since April
Reports suggest that Krishnapatnam Port, located in Andhra Pradesh has handled 13.8 million tonne (mn t) cargo since April 2012. In 2011-12, the port loaded 15.9 mn t of cargo. The port has the capacity to handle 40-45 mn t of cargo from 11 berths built with an investment of about Rs 4,000 crore. It is one of India’s deepest ports with a draft of 18.5 meter and is capable of accommodating the biggest ships operating today
AOSF urges govt, miners to supply stocked ore
All Odisha Steel Federation (AOSF) urged the state government and miners to liquidate idle iron ore stock and thereby resolve what it claims the "artificial crisis of iron ore".
