GAIL (India) is looking at medium-term imported contracts to meet the growing gas demand amidst limited domestic supplies. Medium-term contracts are for one to 12 months.The company is looking at Russia, West Asia, and South-East Asia for sourcing liquefied natural gas.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee asked Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal to seek cleaÂrance from Planning Commission for allocating funds to National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) project under nonPlan category.Telecom minister requested finance ministry to allocate funds for NOFN from nonPlan side to mitigate chances of delays in funding for the scheme which involves approval at various levels.

GAIL clinches cheap gas import deal
GAIL India managed to clinch a deal to import natural gas from a US-based company for deliveries from 2016-17 at the Henry Hub-benchmarked price, which is lower than the Japanese Crude Cocktail (JCC).
SPV to build broadband network
