Odisha can revitalise its steel industry
Odisha has played a pivotal role in the emergence and growth of the steel industry in the country. Blessed with abundant iron ore, the state made rapid strides in steel. Besides iron ore (32.9 per cent of the countryĆĀ“s reserves), Odisha has abundant reserves of bauxite (59.95 per cent), chromite (98.4 per cent), coal (24.8 per cent) and manganese (67.6 per cent), which provide immense opportunities.

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has ambitious plans of expansion and capacity building.
