An inter-ministerial group (IMG) tasked with suggesting punitive measures for holders idling their captive coal blocks has recommended cancellation of 30 mines, making it the single biggest de-allocation so far. Apart from several major firms, many smaller companies are now understood to be included in the list. In its two-day meeting recently, the panel considered the status of 61 captive blocks.

The Inter Ministerial Group (IMG) in the Union government has completed its preparatory work for setting up a Amritsar-Delhi-Kolkata Corridor (ADKIC) and submitted its report to the government.
Govt ups Abu Dhabi air travel seats to 50,000
The Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) at the Centre has enhanced the number of seats to 50,000 in flights that airlines from India and Abu Dhabi operate to each otherÂ’s countries. The IMG has taken a decision to this extent. This was done after overruling an inter-Ministerial committee of bureaucrats, which had recommended increasing the seats to 40,000. This is the line that the Ministry of Civil Aviation is taking in a note being prepared for the Union Cabinet.
IMG to shortlist bankers to manage stake sale in IOC
The inter-ministerial group (IMG), headed by Disinvestment Secretary Ravi Mathur, would shortlist five merchant bankers for managing the 10 per cent government stake sale in Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
