Ban on ZPMC cranes to affect Indian ports
The government decision to deny security clearance to the worldĂ´s biggest port crane maker, ChinaĂ´s state-owned Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co (ZPMC), to supply cargo handling equipment to Major Ports will have serious implications for the countryĂ´s port industry, according to industry executives.
Kamarajar Port to set up FTWZ
The Kamarajar Port (KPL) will set up a Free Trade and Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) on 100 acre, adjacent to its premises. KPL recently acquired 650 acres from the salt department to take care of its future needs.
Ennore Port: On a revival mode
After Tuticorin Port, now it is the turn of Ennore Port to receive a new name and identity. Renamed as Kamarajar Port, the facility is gearing for a major expansion drive with a slew of projects in the pipeline.
