Port Blair Airport terminal
The Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation KC Venugopal said that the projected date of completion of new terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport at Port Blair is December 2017 and is scheduled for commissioning by March 2018.
Govt takes up modernisation of airports
The Union government, as part of its modernisation and upgradation of airports has constructed new terminal buildings of airports at Kolkata, Chennai, Ranchi, Raipur, Puducherry, Bhubaneshwar and Jaisalmer (Civil Enclave), said the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, KC Venugopal in the Lok Sabha on August 22.

The Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation KC Venugopal recently told the Lok Sabha that the projected date of completion of new terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport at Port Blair is December, 2017 and is scheduled for commissioning by March, 2018.

New policy soon for growth of aviation sector
For a new policy of sustainable and orderly growth of aviation sector in the country, the Union Civil Aviation Ministry has prepared a white paper, the Rajya Sabha was told on March 22. To have a sustainable and orderly growth of the aviation sector, the Ministry has felt the need to spell out a long-term Civil Aviation Policy to address various issues related to the sector, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation KC Venugopal said.
AAI spends over Rs 34 cr on non-operational airports
In the last three years, Airports Authority of India (AAI) has spent over Rs 34 crore on maintenance of 31 non-operational airports in the country. Apart from the 31 non-operational airports, there are 45 defence airports, 83 state government airports and five private air strips lying unused, KC Venugopal, Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation told the Rajya Sabha last week.
Cargo terminals to come up at 24 Airports
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation KC Venugopal has stated that 24 airports have been identified for establishment of cargo terminals by carrying out minor modifications to the redundant passenger terminals.
