India will see an investment of about $20 billion in gas field development in the next 5-7 years and is looking to boost usage of the green fuel and double consumption, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said.

ONGC identifies six projects to propel next growth phase
India´s biggest oil and gas explorer, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, has identified six major field development projects with an investment of Rs 241,881 million (Rs 24,000 crore), in addition to its flagship development project in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, to power the next phase of its growth.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) expects peak gas output of 25-30 million standard cubic metre per day (mscmd) from its block off the country's east coast, Exploration Director NK Verma said. Gas production from the deep water block in the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin will begin in 2017. The northern part of the block holds over 2 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas, Verma said.
Panel clears $4 bn investment plan of RIL, partners
