The Maharashtra government has contacted the Centre, demanding release of pending funds for major infrastructure projects in Mumbai and across the State. The letter was handed over by CM Devendra Fadnavis to Union Urban Development minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

Maha calls RFP for 6,000 CCTVs for Mumbai
To design, implement and operate a state-of-the-art, internet protocol-based CCTV surveillance system for Mumbai, the Maharashtra government has invited a Request for Proposal (RFP). The project cost is estimated at Rs 800 crore. The government's initiative comes ahead of the fifth anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai which killed 166 people.
Nod to airport brings Rs 10,000 cr land into market
The project affected persons (PAPs) of the Navi Mumbai airport on November 11 have accepted the the Maharashtra government offered compensation for the loss of their land. The clearance for the proposed Navi Mumbai airport will also bring land worth over Rs 10,000 crore into the real-estate market for development.
Govt sanctions Rs 12 cr for 19-km road in Nagpur
The Maharashtra government has sanctioned Rs 12 crore for rebuilding the rain battered stretch between Butibori and Wardha in Nagpur.
Maha’s 20,000 gram panchayats to get e-banking
The Maharashtra government has decided to start e-banking facilities in 20,000 state Gram Panchayats to curb financial irregularities by self-help groups and money lenders. In the state, there are around 28,000 gram panchayats. Out them, 20,000 would have the e-banking facility, the government said recently.
HC asks Maha govt to ban construction on wetlands
The Maharashtra government has been directed by the Bombay High Court on October 14 to issue a circular to all civic bodies to ensure that no construction or reclamation is permitted on wetlands in Maharashtra. A division bench of Justice VM Kanade and Justice SC Gupte also directed the government to state if it will adopt the Centre's wetland atlas as its brief document.
Maha to decide soon on Rupee-Saraswat merger
The Maharashtra government would decide within eight days on merger of the Rupee Co-operative Bank with the Saraswat Bank, said the State Co-operation Minister Harshvardhan Patil.

The seafront of this 18 km-long enclave will be made accessible to the public by a 5 km coastal road restricted to the beach area. It will give an impetus to tourism by allowing resorts and tourist activities in green zones as well.
