Maha govt urges Centre to compensate JNPT PAPs

Maharashtra government has urged the Union Shipping Ministry to speed up the compensation dispersal under the 12.5 per cent developed land scheme to the project affected persons (PAPs) in Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) area.

This requisition has been made by the State Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.

A land of 1,172 hectares was acquired by Cidco in the mid 1980s, from the PAPs and handed it over to JNPT.
