The Maharashtra government is to restore all the rain battered roads in Nagpur at a cost of Rs 100 crore. Nagpur roads were ravaged by rains that lashed the city since the past month. If needed, more funds would be sanctioned, said the State Employment Guarantee Scheme Minister Nitin Raut.

Maharashtra frames PPP policy
The urban development department of the Maharashtra government framed a new policy in order to address issues, such as settling of claims and risk-sharing, arising out of delays in public private partnership (PPP) projects.
AAI seeks Maha govt’s help to develop Juhu airport
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has sought Maharashtra governmentĂâs help to lift the reservation of a general park on the plot to be utilised for the development of Juhu airport in Mumbai. For this, changes are required in the Development Control Rule (DCR). After the recent approval by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation for a Rs 2,000-crore development plan, the AAI approached the State government on June 25 to discuss three issues with JK Banthia, Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
Plea to HC to ask Maha to finish Virar flyover work
A public interest litigation has asked the Bombay HC to direct the Maharashtra government to complete a flyover near Virar station. A delay of five years in completing the flyover has inconvenienced people, it said. The PIL, filed by corporator Rajkumar Chorghe states that work order for the flyover, in place of level crossing number 40, was issued on May 5, 2006 by the executive engineer, Public Works Department, Thane, to M/s Ajapial Mangal and Company.
Compensation hurdles hamper NM airport project
For the much delayed Navi Mumbai airport project, the Maharashtra government has decided to review the compensation to be paid to acquire the remaining land. Maharashtra Chief Minister PrithvirajChavan said that the project implementing agency Cidco has been asked to suggest whether the package, promised to land owners from nearby areas, in other projects can also be applied in this case.
New industrial policy may not up housing stock in Maha
The Maharashtra government unveiled new industrial policy earmarking 40 per cent of land for Special Economic Zones (SEZs) might not see substantial land being used for housing purposes in Pune district, say property experts. According to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), majority of the notified SEZs in Pune district will not have excess land to implement the schemes.
CM reviews progress on Navi Mumbai airport project
Reiterating that the Maharashtra government is committed to complete the Navi Mumbai international project on priority basis, the State Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan reviewed the progress of work on the project on February 6.
Maha’s industrial policy to allow more land for housing
The Maharashtra governmentĂâs new industrial policy will lead to the unlocking of 8,797 acres of land in Thane-Navi Mumbai area and 5,765 acres of land in Pune, official data shows. Of this, 40 per cent of land will be used for construction of houses and shops.
Maha’s e’way safety: Auto body to submit report by Feb 7
A report recommending safety measures to be taken on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the Mumbai-Goa highway will be submitted to the Maharashtra government by February 7. The report is being prepared by the Western India Automobile Association ( WIAA).

The Maharashtra government decided to set aside Rs 200 crore for the proposed international airport at Rajgurunagar in Pune district.
