In Mumbai, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will go ahead with its original plan to build the flyover from Haji Ali-Girgaum Chowpatty. Now it will discard Mumbai Transformation Support UnitÂ’s (MTSU) plan for a shorter version of Peddar Road flyover covering only Cadbury Junction, said MSRDC.

Pune-Mumbai h’way stretch to be made a 4-laner
On the busy old Pune-Mumbai Highway, road widening work of an accident-prone narrow stretch from Nigdi to Dehu Road is expected to start soon. The road widening work was stalled since 2006 which caused extreme inconvenience to commuters.

Cracks appear in Dindoshi bridge in Mumbai
In Mumai, the 13-year-old Dindoshi flyover was supposed to have been sturdy for 50 years. But by 13 years itself, cracks and damage show the sorry state of one of the busiest bridges in western suburb. To make travel safer for motorists on Pune-Mumbai Expressway, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is to install Brifen wire ropes at a few accident-prone spots of the 95-km-long expressway. A pilot project for the same expressway was carried out in March this year, along a 2.5 km stretch at Kamshet. It was a success. Now MSRDC plans to use the wire rope along the entire 95-km-long expressway.

MSRDC withdraws toll rebate to Thane locals
In Thane area, the order on rebate on toll given to local residents by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is said to have overturned. A truck terminus on the busy Mumbai–Pune Expressway is to come up to provide some rest to the tired drivers. The terminus is being planned by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Transport experts and the State highway police have been demanding a truck terminus along the expressway for a long time, saying it will reduce the number of accidents on the highway.
