Wind power bodies’ plea for investor-friendly policies
Investor-friendly policies by the government will accelerate wind energy development in the country, hence such policies are the need of the hour, wind energy associations in India have said.
Policy for offshore wind projects
A sub-committee under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is preparing draft policy guidelines for development of offshore wind energy projects.
1,000 mw solar park
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is planning to set up a 1,000 mw solar park in the country.The ministry is thinking in terms of mandating local content for projects that would be set up in the park, while those come up elsewhere would not have any such restrictions.
Solar Cities to be Developed
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy proposes to develop 60 cities as solar cities. So far,based on proposals received by the government from various sates, in-principle approval has been given to 48 cities to be developed as solar cities in the country. Out of these, 37 cities have been given the green light by the government.
