To ease traffic burden on the highway stretch between Kolathia Square and Khandagiri Square in Bhubaneswar, the city police have discussed with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and proposed to build a flyover on the stretch. The development takes place following an accident on December 1, om which three were killed.

In Mangalore, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to collect user fee on the 18.60 km National Highway Road from the city to BC Road from December 5 midnight. With this, travel for Mangalore commuters on BC Road is to become more costly.

Toll to be collected on Padil-BC Road stretch
In Mangalore, toll will be collected from vehicle users on the 20-km stretch between Padil and BC Road by this year end. Though the 37-km Surathkal-BC Road stretch was constructed by the same agency- Ircon International Limited (IRCON) - two different agencies will be appointed to collect the toll and do the maintenance of the road, stated the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
