Keeping in mind the security issues being faced by India, the National Shipping Board (NSB) has sugĆĀgeĆĀĆĀsted that all the major and minor ports in the country should be brought under the control of Union Government.

East coast ports to import bulk of coal
PVK Mohan, Chairman, National Shipping Board, said the country's coal imports will shortly rise to 200 million tonne annually and the bulk of the imports will be through east coast ports.
