To construct phase-II of Chennai Outer Ring Road, from Nemilichery to Minjur, the Tamil Nadu government has recently given its nod to a consortium of Ashoka Buildcon and GVR Infra Projects. Work on phase-I of the ORR, from Vandalur to Nemilichery, is nearing completion. On completion, the 61.65-km-long road will form a semicircle around the city and help decongest ChennaiĂâs roads. It will act as a major link and connect four national highways Ăâ NH 4, NH 5, NH 45 and NH 205.

Govt fixes Solar Mission Phase II tariff at Rs 5.45 a unit
According to the ĂâDraft Guidelines,Ăâ released by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, it proposes to fix a tariff of Rs 5.45 per kwhr for solar power projects that would be awarded under the Phase II of the National Solar Mission. The Draft Guidelines released on April 22. Those who want to put up solar power projects will now be asked for bid for Ăâviability gap fundingĂâ that would be given by the government.

Work goes on slow pace on Pune’s BRTS-II
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has implemented only 1.78 per cent of the total work of the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) phase II on 27 city roads since January last year, senior Congress corporator Aba Bagul said on October 31.
