Biggest underground mine to open
India´s second-largest coal producer Singareni Collieries will open the country´s biggest underground mine this month with a capacity of 2.8 million tonne per year, which should help the firm edge past its output target for this fiscal year.
NTPC to pick stake in overseas coal mines
NTPC is scouting for coal assets overseas and has invited proposals form coal miners interested in offloading stake. The move is aimed at ensuring a steady supply of imported coal which the power producer needs for its plants.

The Power Transmission & Distribution business of Larsen & Toubro has bagged a contract from the Power Grid Corporation of India for executing 400/220 kV GIS substation at Pandiabil in Odisha
