Neyveli Lignite to set up 600 MW solar power capacity
Public sector lignite mining and power generating company, Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC), has plans to set up units producing 600 MW solar power. The company has been recently looking at solar and wind, besides, coal as options of fuel, with plans to take total power generation capacity to 12,221 MW from its current 2,740 MW.
Crude oil output falls in Aug 2014
India´s crude oil refinery output declined 4.3 per cent to 18.55 million tonne (mt) in August 2014, continuing the downfall for the fifth straight month.

ADB plans to lend $10 bn to public sector
Reports suggest that Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Manila-based multilateral development bank, plans to lend around $10 billion to the Indian public sector between 2012-2017 and $2 billion to the private sector in this period. It is also learnt that the bank is holding talks with the central government on its country strategy paper for India
