PuneĆās proposed international airport has gained momentum with Chief Minister Devendra FadnavisĆās tweet that the technical team from Airports Authority of India (AAI) will conduct preliminary study of Rajgurunagar site, near Khed Special Economic Zone, in the first week of September.

Draft National Civil Aviation Policy (DNCAP) 2015 – Industry view
It provides a fillip for promotion of regional air connectivity. AAI will examine the feasibility of developing AAIĆĀ“s balance non-operational airports factoring the changed environment and the need for regional and remote area connectivity. For the non feasible, non-operational airports, other potential uses are being explored.
