Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh informed the State Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that Union Cabinet took important decisions regarding Prime Minister Grameena Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Andhra Pradesh during meeting held on February 7.

New Delhi’s roads getting a facelift
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has been giving special treatment to its roads, especially to strengthen and improve durability of the roads. The civic body is now protecting roads falling under its jurisdiction by doing 'micro-surfacing treatment' as per road-wise suitability.

Rajasthan to get nod for Rs 4,355 cr road project
For Rajasthan, the Union Government is likely to approve a Rs 4,355 crore project for construction of 1,300 km roads, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways C P Joshi said on November 18. The construction of 1,869-km long roads in the state was completed at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore and work on an additional 1,243-km is underway, he said at a function in Jaipur.
GMR says bad times are over for its airport biz
In this fiscal, GMR Infrastructure is hopeful of registering decent growth in its airport vertical. The company which operates in three business segments including power, roads and airport incurred a loss of Rs 179 crore in the September quarter, up around four fold, YoY due to poor show from its power and airport segments.
