Ministry wants banks to ease land norms for road projects
Banks have been asked by the union finance ministry to disburse loan to road projects developers who have acquired 80 per cent of the required land instead of the existing norm of 100 per cent.
SJVN plans power projects
RP Singh, Chairman of SJVN informed that the firm may invest about Rs 986 crore on several projects, including wind and thermal during 2013-14 compared to Rs 796 crore invested in the previous fiscal.
Set realistic road building targets: NHAI chief tells govt
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman RP Singh said in Delhi on January 17 that there is not enough capacity in the system to construct 7,000-8,000 km of highways every year, that too on public-private partnership (PPP) basis. He said that the government should set a more realistic target on road construction of about 3,000-4,000 km a year.
