Ahmedabad-based Adani Ports and SEZ is among the 18 companies in the race to operate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the city. Along with Adani, the city-based Sadbhav Engineering and a host of other players including GMR, GVK, and JapanĂÂŽs Toyota Tsusho India have filed the request for qualification (RFQ) document. On 19 November, officials of the Key Infrastructure Development (KID) cell of the Airport Authority of India held talks with representatives of 10 bidding companies

Centre to upgrade A’bad airport’s runway for Airbus 380
To upgrade the runway of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has earmarked Rs 50 crore. With the runway upgradation the world's biggest passenger aircraft Airbus-380 can land in the airport in the near future.
