Govt to decide on diverting gas to power sector
Government would decide on whether to increase the supply of natural gas to power sector by diverting a part of the existing supply to fertiliser sector. Fertiliser plants in India get 43.6 mscmd of natural gas at present. Of this, 19.5 per cent (8.5 mscmd) comes from imported liquefied natural gas (LNG). Some reports indicate that the fertiliser plants may have to import 45-50 per cent of their total gas

Central government must give special dispensation for allocation of natural gas to power and fertiliser sectors, union Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya Scindia informed reporters at Toronto. Scindia asserted that in terms of pricing, either in the form of subsidies or differential pricing, government must give special dispensation for supply of gas to these two sectors, the minister said

Considering the increasing demand for iron ore, the Odisha government allowed about 10 per cent hike in the production of ore from Joda and Koira circles to 57 million tonne (mn t) in 2012-13 from the previous year. While ore output from Joda circle is set at 44 mn t, that at the Koira sector is pegged at 13 mn t.
