A new road policy will be brought into effect in Bihar to tackle road maintenance issues, said the State government on March 5. The State government, at the same time, blamed the Centre for discriminating against the state in releasing funds for road projects.

NHAI to have final say on road alignment in Kerala
The Kerala government will no longer push for any comprehensive changes in the alignments fixed by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for widening of highways in Kerala. The State government is planning to widen the stretch of the NH-17 between these two points. The State PWD sources say that a land acquisition proposal for widening the stretch from Nuvem church to Ambajim junction has been framed.

To prevent misuse of money allocated for construction of roads the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has recommended to the State Government to establish a commission consisting of experts and police officers. In case of bad roads, the proposed commission should be empowered to take action against the officers and agencies responsible for this, the Commission advised.

MBL Infra wins Rs 100-cr road project in MP
For developing a 47 km stretch in Madhya Pradesh MBL Infrastructure on February 9 said it has bagged Rs 100 crore project from the State government. MBL Infrastructure has been awarded the project of developing a 46.98 km road from Garra-Waraseoni up to Maharashtra border in Madhya Pradesh by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MRPDC), the company said in a statement.

ADB’s kudos to Bihar for road construction works
Asian Development Bank (ADB) has praised road construction work in Bihar and promised all assistance to the State government in its future projects.
