Work on Mumbai coastal road may begin by Dec 2014
The 35 km Mumbai coastal road project worth Rs Rs 8,000 crore is likely to be put on the fast track and work on the ambitious road project is expected to begin by December next year. The road will run from Nariman Point to Kandivli, and aimed at easing the traffic congestion in western Mumbai.

Flyover in Bangalore’s Banaswadi to be widened
In Bangalore, to tackle the traffic congestion on one of the major roads in Banasawadi, East Bengaluru, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) is mulling over the construction of flyovers parallel to the existing one. The Corporation is also planning to provide one extra lane to the flyover loop which connects Byappanahalli to the Banasawadi flyover.
Chennai to have 45-km elevated road to ease traffic jams
To ease traffic congestion in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on April 1 announced a slew of road projects, including an elevated road between Taramani and Mamallapuram. The elevated road is to ease traffic congestion caused by the proliferation of IT companies, educational institutions and skyscrapers.

To ease traffic congestion from Vallarpadam to NH 17 at Paravoor, Kochi, the Kerala State Construction Corporation (KSCC) will construct a road from Chathanad-Moolampilly at Rs Rs 97-crore. The general council of Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA) held in Kochi on February 12 decided to this extent. It is to entrust the road construction. GIDA had earlier planned to give the project to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Work on Angadippuram ROB to begin soon
In Kerala's Angadippuram railway gate area the issue of traffic congestion will soon be resolved as the Roads and Bridges Development Corporation (RBDC) is expected to begin the work on the railway overbridge (ROB) at Angadippuram, on the National Highway 213. RBDC has submitted the general arrangement drawing (GAD) for the final approval of the railways.
