Ministry to look into feasibility of Airbus 380s

Centre may take a call soon on Jet-Etihad deal
The Union Civil Aviation Ministry is likely to send a note this week to the Cabinet Secretariat, seeking a post-facto approval for the seat-sharing pact between Etihad Airways and Jet Airways where India offered an additional 36,670 seats on flights between the two countries over the next three years. Govt pulls up DGCA for delaying action against flying clubs
The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has pulled up the aviation safety regulator over delay in taking action against three flying clubs in Maharashtra caught for fudging training records in 2011. The schools under fire include the Bombay Flying Club (BFC), the country's oldest flying club. Despite several discrepancies in the club's records and heavy monetary penalty recommended against some of its officials, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) failed to implement timely action.

Inducting new aircraft got easier in India
The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has disbanded the Aircraft Acquisition Committee as it was under the pressure from the airline industry and in the face of criticism about delays in inducting new aircraft.
