Ongoing protests supporting united Andhra Pradesh affected the Gangavaram port operations on August 22. Agitators of 'Samaikyandhra', led by Minister for Infrastructure, Investment and Ports, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Gajuwaka MLA Chintalpudi Venkataramaiah asked the Gangavaram Port to close its operations in expression of solidarity with the ongoing movement for keeping the State united.
