The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 4.5 crore for construction and repair of roads near the new campus of Lucknow University. The State PWD Minister Shivpal Yadav, who visited the campus of the University, directed the Nirman Nigam officials to start construction of the science building which has been lying incomplete for past three years.

UP govt permits mixed land use in residential colonies
Commercial use of properties in residential areas is going to be allowed by the Uttar Pradesh government. The government, till now, was not allowing the use of residential areas for commercial use under the housing and urban planning act. The new provision is proposed in the new housing policy which the State government is set to put in place.
UP govt gives nod to JV for solar power project
To tap the state's solar energy potential, the Uttar Pradesh government is to establish a joint venture company of the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation. According to the official statement released by the State government, it has also been decided that a memorandum of understanding would be signed between the two agencies.
UP govt urged to repair roads in Luckonw
The Uttar Pradesh government has been suggested on the renovation exercise of Kaiserbagh in Lucknow. The British Indian Association has made some suggestions and asked the government to repair worn out roads of the area, especially Raja Ahmad Ali Marg and the road between Butler Park and Baradari. Road running behind Baradari has been encroached by bus owners and horse-cart pullers who park buses and tie horses on roadsides obstructing the traffic.
UP faces fund shortage for its rural road project
The Uttar Pradesh government had earmarked Rs 2,125 crore for construction of roads under the Ram Manohar Lohiya Samagra Vikas Yojana in 1,598 villages in 2012-13. But now the government has scaled down the amount to just Rs 391 crore because of lack of funds, said a senior official in the State Panchayati Raj Department. And even out of the 391 crore, only Rs 100 crore has actually been released for the purpose so far, said the official.
UP Govt seeks new agreement on Ballia-Noida h’way
The Uttar Pradesh government on March 14 told the UP assembly that it has sought fresh agreement from Jai Prakash Associates for the construction of Ganga Express Highway between Ballia and Noida. However, the government refused to specify whether it was keen to pursue the project, which was initiated by the previous Mayawati government. The Rs 30,000 crore project envisages eight-lane express highway from Noida to Ballia covering around 1,047 km in 10 hours.
UP strives to develop road infrastructure
The major focus of the Uttar Pradesh government has been on developing the state's infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. This included construction of roads, highways, flyovers and railway overbridges in various districts.
UP sets aside Rs 984.88 lakh for Varanasi road works
The Uttar Pradesh government's allotment of funds in its budget for road repair and construction work in Varanasi was welcomed by all. Due to digging of roads for laying pipelines under the projects of sewage, drainage and water supply line over the past five years there is hardly any road fit for smooth vehicular movement.
Agra set to become India’s first solar city: UP govt
The Uttar Pradesh government on February 22 announced that Agra, the Taj city, would be the first ‘solar city’ of the country. Minister of State for Alternative Energy Vijay Mishra said that a Detailed Project Report(DPR) has been sent by the Agra authorities for making the city as the first Solar city of the country.
Consultant selected for Agra-Lucknow E’way
For the proposed Agra-Lucknow expressway Uttar Pradesh government on January 3 selected a consortium of feedback infrastructure services and Redecon India as the project development consultant. The project is estimated to cost Rs 10,500 crore. The selection was finalised in a meeting chaired by the State Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) Anil K Gupta.
