Karnataka Minister for Public Works Department H C Mahadevappa has said that the state government has proposed a 18 km Green Bypass Project costing Rs 2,200 crore. The funding is planned through assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a permanent solution to improve the condition of the Shiradi ghat road stretch. The proposed project includes the construction of five tunnels of 7.7 km length, in the Maranahalli-Gundya section and a high-arch bridge stretching across 3.9 km.
