Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has proposed significant changes in its Phase 3 expansion programme. The new lines will cover Ring Road, and the Metro wants to spread its network to UP and Haryana, making the phase the largest expansion with nine corridors.
The plan also includes a new corridor between Rajouri Garden and Dhaula Kuan and also taking the proposed Kalindi Kunj-Malviya Nagar corridor via Jamia Nagar.
The new route map will include six corridors including Jahangirpuri to Badli, Central Secretariat to Red Fort, Ashok Park to Delhi Gate, Rajouri Garden to Dhaula Kuan, Anand Vihar to Yamuna Vihar and Noida to Malviya Nagar.
In addition, it is expecting three more corridors to be included in Phase 3. These are proposed extension of Line 6 from Badarpur up to Faridabad, Line 1 from Dilshad Garden up to Ghaziabad in Haryana and Line 3 from Noida up to Greater Noida in UP.
