As farmers and the Gas Authority of India (GAIL) have signed a deal recently, the stalÂled Dabhol-Bangalore Liquefied Natural Gas pipeline project will begin soon. As per the farÂmers' demands, GAIL has agreÂed to compensate farmers for their lands given to the pipeline project by increasing the compensation five times more than the guidance value.
Apart from this, farmers will also get 30 per cent ex gratia over the compensation, which will not affect farmers. The land value would be paid immÂediatÂely and that of the crops would be completely paid by September. GAIL has also agrÂeed to give compensation of Rs 70,696 per acre for onion crop.
