Maharashtra government will soon invite bids for widening of the Pune-Bangalore highway to six lanes. The major highways passing through Pune like Pune-Nashik, Pune-Satara-Kolhapur and Pune-Solapur have four lanes. There is a need for widening these to six lanes to handle the growing vehicular traffic.
