For Rajasthan, the Union Government is likely to approve a Rs 4,355 crore project for construction of 1,300 km roads, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways C P Joshi said on November 18. The construction of 1,869-km long roads in the state was completed at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore and work on an additional 1,243-km is underway, he said at a function in Jaipur.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on the same occasion, dedicated three under-passes connecting various colonies of Prithviraj Nagar scheme with Vaishali Nagar and other areas. The State government has taken the decision to regularise Prithviraj Nagar scheme and the development of the colonies under the project will take place shortly, he said.
Gehlot highlighted the State government’s efforts for the strengthening of road network in Rajasthan. Gehlot asked the Union government to announce more national highways in the state.
