Paving way for providing a signal-free corridor and streamlining traffic flow between Delhi and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the Noida Authority has managed to get the design for the double U-turn on the road running in front of Sector 15A approved. The proposal was in a limbo for the last two months over the issue of felling of 60 trees in the area.
However, the authority has finally managed to get the department’s approval to shift and transplant the trees at an alternate location and officials said that tenders for the u-turns will be initiated by the end of this month. To be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore, the double U-turn will come up between the two entry gates of sector 15A.
The project is expected to provide a signal free corridor between East Delhi and Greater Noida via the Noida entry gate and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The project will ease movement of vehicles coming to Noida from the Mahamaya flyover via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. On the other hand, they will also help commuters travelling into Noida from Mayur Vihar side to travel towards Sector 1 by using the Sector 14 flyover.
