Santosh Kumar Mohapatra, Chief Executive Officer of Dhamra Port Company (DPCL) said the port undertook several initiatives in the field of environment protection under the guidance of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
These include installation of special designed environment friendly and dark-sky friendly lighting system within the port premises.
Mohapatra said this on the occasion of the World Environment Day – 2013 function organised by DPCL.
During the function, the port conferred 12 “Prakruti Sathee” Awards to individuals and organizations of Bhadrak district who have done commendable work in the field of environment protection and awareness spreading.
Besides Mohapatra, Vice-President (Projects) of the company Anil Kumar Kar and Head CSR of Dhamra Port Himansu Shekhar Sahoo were also present on the occasion.
