A team from Kenya consisting of 7 members visited the KINFRA Food processing park, Kakkenchery on 12th July 2014 for benchmarking purpose as part of their feasibility study for setting up of an agro-based SME industrial park at Eldoret, Kenya. The official delegation consisted of the following members: Daniel Mutua-Director (Board of ICDC), Joseph Mwaura – Chairman of the delegate team, Paul Okwiri – Valuer, Robert Chesire – Investment Analyst, Joel Wanjohi – Investment Analyst, Lazarus Odongo – Legal Advisor, Joseph Waka – Procurement. KINFRAs officials included KN Srikumar, Sr Media Advisor, K Sudhakaran, GM (Projects), Manu George ( KINFRA Food Division), Kishorekumar and CV Gireesh.

The Industrial & Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC) was established in 1954 under its own Act of Parliament Cap 445 of the Laws of Kenya. At that time, it was called IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) but the name was later changed to ICDC. With the events in that period of time indicating that the time of colonial rule was coming to an end, it was found necessary to create the Corporation for purposes of opening up the economy and placing it in indigenous hands post-independence.
