Khed city in Pune will get a vibrant industrial park for profitable manufacturing
KHED CITY is one of India´s largest integrated development project near Chakan in Pune. KHED CITY is being implemented by Khed Economic Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (KEIPL) – a Joint Venture of the Kalyani Group and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). With vast experience of infrastructure development of both the joint venture partners, Khed City is becoming the destination of choice.
Project at a glance
Khed City is a large integrated development project near Chakan in Pune. The project is spread over about 4,200 acres of Khed and Shirur talukas, in Pune District. Located about 50 km from Pune, Khed City has seamless connectivity through the Pune-Nashik National Highway No. 50. Similarly, the connectivity to the two ports of Mumbai/Navi Mumbai and the International Airport at Mumbai is enabled through the six-lane Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the four lane NH-4. Khed City falls within the influence zone of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), India´s most ambitious infrastructure project. Therefore occupants of Khed City will have access to world-class logistics infrastructure. The large established industrial clusters of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bhosari, Talegaon, Chakan and Ranjangaon are all within 50-60 mins reach, offering excellent forward and backward linkages. Khed City has been granted Environment Clearance (EC) by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Govt of India. The State Pollution
Control Board has also granted Consent to Establish and Consent to Operate for the initial phases. The project consists of:-
- Domestic Industrial Park (DTA): An attractive desti¡nation for companies both Indian and Foreign which wish to set up in India to serve the domestic market.
- Integrated Industrial Area (IIA): The soon to be notified IIA is an alternate location within Khed City for companies serving the domestic market.
- Engineering & Electronics Special Economic Zone: Under the Government of India´s SEZ Act & SEZ Rules, an SEZ hosts companies which are primarily engaged in serving the international markets, i.e., export oriented companies. The Khed City Sector Specific SEZ offers the full range of incentives and benefits offered by the Government of India´s SEZ Act & Rules as well as benefits from the Government of Maharashtra.
Domestic Tariff Area
India´s domestic market offers huge opportunities for Indian companies and MNCs. Spread over 270 acres in the first phase, Khed City´s Domestic Industrial Park provides a platform for companies which cater predominantly to the Indian market.Incentives for units in the Domestic Industrial Park will be available under the Maharashtra Government´s Package Scheme of Incentives. The incentives are offered to the eligible units by the Government of Maharashtra. The Industries Department is the Implementing Agency for the Scheme. Khed City falls in ´C´ Zone which is eligible for liberal incentives.
Incentives may include:
- Investment Promotion Subsidy
- Waiver of Electricity Duty
- Stamp Duty Exemption on land lease
- Special incentives are available for ´Mega´ projects depending on the level of investment and employment generation
- The Domestic Industrial Park also offers space for Residential & Commercial facilities.
Infrastructure
Access to the project site is available via the Rajgurunagar-Pabal State Highway No 103. This road has been widened and strengthened by KEIPL to provide swift and safe access to the Project Site. A network of 4 & 6 lane internal roads has been created to IRC Standards. The network is being extended to meet units´ requirement. The roads include paved footpaths, street lighting and wayside landscaping. Two 33/11 KV substations are functional within KHED CITY to provide its occupants reliable power supply. The distribution licensee is MSEDCL, the State Utility. Infrastructure for power supply at 11 KV is available at the plot boundary. Supply at 33KV may also be possible subject to approvals of MSEDCL, upon payment of cost towards additional infrastructure as per MSEDCL norms. Water infrastructure, including Jackwell, storage reservoir and treatment plant has been installed and is functional. Distribution lines are being extended in a phased manner to meet the units´ requirements. Water treated to CPHEEO standards is supplied to the units. OFC Network has been created by one service provider along the State Highway.
