Kerala CM inaugurates solar plant at Kochi airport

The Cochin International Airport became the first one to be completely powered by solar energy after CM Oommen Chandy inaugurated the 12 MW solar power plant at the airport premises recently. The Rs 62 crore project is envisaged to meet the daily power requirement up to 50,000 units of the entire airport. The plant was set up on 45 acres of land by Bosch Ltd, Bengaluru, and has more than 46,000 solar panels.
