The West Bengal state government has reportedly told the Airports Authority of India (AAI) that it could provide around 30 acre and not 118 acre as demanded by the AAI, for tIhe expansion of Bagdogra airport. This has forced the central agency to scale down the project. The proposals for parking space for 500 vehicles, cargo complex and an integrated complex to house different offices have been dropped.
