Initial outcomes of efforts to modernise Railways overwhelming: Prabhu

The initial outcomes of efforts to modernise the Railways are ¨overwhelming¨ but they are just a ¨trailer¨, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has said. ¨We have prioritised Railways… initial outcomes are overwhelming,¨ he said at the entenary celebrations of Central Railways´ Matunga Workshop. ¨Let me tell you that this is only the trailer of modernisation. You will see the full results and improvised version of Indian Railways after four to five years,¨ Prabhu said. The minister laid the foundation stone for a foot over bridge at Currey Road station on the central line.

¨In the last many decades, Railways did not get its share of care. That is why it is falling short of meeting passengers´ expectations. We have taken initiatives to improve it because we understand that a better railway means a better India,¨ he said.
