The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has appealed to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) not to be influenced by unscrupulous agencies in getting LPG connections.
In an official statement, the Ministry said that it has come to the government´s notice that in certain areas, people posing as government-appointed NGOs are trying to contact beneficiaries for facilitating the release of LPG connections under PMUY. ´A few people associated with one such fraud agency operating in Bareilly area have been arrested. It is brought to the notice of all concerned that the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has not appointed any NGO or any other agency for releasing LPG connections under PMUY,´ an official statement said.
