JFE Engineering, based in Japan, has committed to provide technical assistance to the forthcoming waste-to-energy facility in Kozhikode, according to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The firm’s Director, Head of Overseas Business and Environmental Solution Sector, Keiichi Nagaya, met with the Chief Minister and guaranteed him of support for the state’s first waste-to-energy treatment plant. In a Facebook post, Vijayan stated that the company has installed more than 350 garbage disposal units around the world.
“They have agreed to collaborate on the project’s technology and construction. The government expects to complete the plant’s construction within two years. The first Waste-to-Energy Treatment Plant in Kerala would be built in Kozhikode, ” the Chief Minister went on to say.
In the meeting held in the Chief Minister’s chamber, the company’s India Managing Director B G Kulkarni, Zonta Infratech MD Raj Kumar, among others participated.
