The L110 engine forms the core of the LVM3 Gaganyaan Launch Vehicle, which will propel Indian astronauts into orbit and enable safe atmospheric re-entry of the crew module.

In a major milestone for India’s Gaganyaan human spaceflight programme, Godrej Aerospace, the aerospace arm of Godrej Enterprises Group, has delivered the first human-rated L110 Stage Vikas Engine to the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

The L110 engine is a critical component of the LVM3 Gaganyaan Launch Vehicle, which is designed to carry Indian astronauts into space and ensure safe re-entry of the crew module after completing its mission objectives.

Maneck Behramkamdin, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Godrej Aerospace, said, “Contributing to India’s first human spaceflight programme is both an honour and a responsibility that we carry with the highest commitment. This achievement reaffirms our long-standing partnership with ISRO and LPSC, and showcases our capability to deliver mission-critical technology that strengthens India’s leadership in space exploration.”

This delivery reinforces Godrej Aerospace’s legacy of collaboration with ISRO in developing high-precision propulsion systems and components for India’s space missions. Over the past four decades, the company has supported landmark projects including Chandrayaan, NISAR, and other strategic programmes, helping position India as a global leader in space technology.
