Aligned with the International Women’s Day 2026 theme ‘Give to Gain’, the initiative reinforces that when women are given equal opportunities, organisations and society benefit through a more inclusive workforce.
On International Women’s Day, Tata Power‑led Odisha distribution companies (discoms) reinforced their commitment to diversity and inclusion by celebrating the second season of the Nua Arambha (New beginning) initiative. The programme supports women professionals in restarting their careers after a break, enabling them to re-enter the workforce.
Seven women professionals have already been onboarded across varied roles in the four Odisha discoms, reflecting resilience and determination while inspiring others to return to the workforce. Senior leaders including Dr. Monica Singhania, Professor at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and Director on the Boards of Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPNODL) and Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPWODL), and Gajanan Kale, Chief of Odisha Distribution Business, highlighted the initiative’s role in fostering equal opportunities and innovation.
Speaking on the occasion, Kale said, “Through initiatives like Nua Arambha, we aim to provide women professionals with the opportunity and confidence to restart their careers and contribute meaningfully to the organisation and society. Their resilience and determination inspire us to continue building a workplace that supports equal opportunities and empowers women at every stage of their professional journey.”
Dr. Singhania commended the resilience of the women professionals who have chosen to re‑enter the workforce and praised Odisha discoms’ commitment to building an environment that supports women’s professional growth, learning, and leadership.
The programme emphasises Tata Power Odisha discoms’ broader commitment to building an inclusive workplace culture that balances professional aspirations with personal responsibilities. It also echoes the International Women’s Day 2026 theme, ‘Give to Gain,’ by creating support systems that help women thrive and contribute to organisational and societal growth.
Through Nua Arambha, Tata Power Odisha discoms continue to promote gender diversity, empower women, and strengthen the sustainable growth of the power distribution sector in the state.
