The Rs 400 crore steam coal import terminal at Visakhapatnam port has been completed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ). APSEZ is IndiaÂ’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group. The terminal project has been completed 8 months ahead of schedule.

The project marks the company’s entry on the East Coast of India. The Adani Vizag Coal Terminal Private Limited, a subsidiary of APSEZ, had entered into a concession contract with the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) to set up a steam coal handling facility with a capacity of 6.4 million tonne (mt) a year in March 2011 with a completion deadline of August 2014.

Setting a record in completion of the Adani Vizag steam coal terminal project ahead of schedule was a proud moment for the group, the company said.
