Smart cards for drinking water in Bhubaneswar slums
Slum dwellers in Bhubaneswar will get safe drinking water in water scarce pockets as the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to distribute around 2,500 smart cards that can be swiped in the water ATMs for water. At present, 10 ATMs machine have been installed at Jharana Basti, Gandamunda, Jadupur, Dumduma, Pokhariput, Siripur, Ganganagar Square, Bhimtangi, Sundarpada and Bhoi Sahi, Barmunda.
Centre takes initiatives to boost oil & gas production
The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan has informed the Lok Sabha that the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has signed MoUs (Memorandums of Understanding) with Oil & Gas CPSEs (Central Public Sector Enterprises) to enhance production of oil and gas for meeting domestic demand' Under this agreement, the CPSEs have undertaken to achieve the targets set in the agreement at the beginning of the year.
Over 12 lakh houses for urban poor
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), a total of 12,27,088 affordable houses for the Economically Weaker Sections in urban areas have been approved with Central assistance commitment of Rs.19,682 crore.
