Petronet LNG, India´s leading gas importer, is in discussions with Qatar´s RasGas to tweak a decade-old liquefied natural gas (LNG) procurement deal. The Indian firm has been forced to cut down gas volumes from Qatar after the price of fuel bought through this long-term contract has become almost double the spot prices.

Cairn India Limited results for Q2FY16 ended 30th Sep, 2015
Net revenue for Q2FY16 was reported at Rs.2,242 crore, which declined 15 per cent QoQ mainly due to fall in crude prices and increase in discount to Brent for Rajasthan crude. Average Brent prices fell 18 per cent QoQ to $50.5 per barrel driving our average oil realization down by 22 per cent QoQ to $43.7/bbl.

Renowned scientist Shekhar Basu has been appointed as Atomic Energy Secretary and Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission. He will serve his tenure till he attains the age of 64 years, i.e., till September 19, 2016. Basu, who is currently Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Chief Executive of the Nuclear Recycle Board (NRB), replaces RK Sinha.
