With an increase in the traffic for the past two months, the multi-modal logistics park at Balli station on the Konkan Railway route is most likely to be fully operational by October with state-of-the-art facilities. Over the last two months, 1,120 containers each weighing 30 tonne of consignment have been dispatched from the facility. The Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) that manages the park signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KRCL. With an investment of Rs 430 million, the park will initially deal with domestic traffic and 5,000 sq m of custom-bonded warehousing space is created. Spread over 84,000 sq m, thel logistics park will also aim to provide value-added services like stuffing, repackaging, etc. for its users.
