The Union government has granted 'in-principle' approval for setting up of a greenfield airport at Kannur in Kerala. The project is to be implemented on Build Own and Operate (BOO) model, said the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, KC Venugopal in the Lok recently.

The Andhra Pradesh government has failed to expand the runway at Vijayawada airport to 10,500 ft and modernisation of the terminal building at the airport even after six years after signing an MoU with the Airports Authority of India in this regard.
Goa policy for more investment in aviation
The investment policy of the Goa government plans to reap maximum benefits from the proposed greenfield airport at Mopa plateau, 40 km from Panaji, the State's capital. The Airports Authority of India on August 6 stated that the new International Terminal at Chennai airport has been built at a cost of about Rs 2,000 crore. It added that the new terminal was scheduled to begin operations on August 7.
Recarpeting soon for runway of Nagpur airport

Volvo buses round the clock for Kolkata airport
In Kolkata, passengers flying in and out of the city airport would soon be able to avail Volvo bus service round the clock. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) on July 30.
In addition to a luxury ride in sprawling Volvo buses, the fliers would also be in line to get a proper lowdown on taxi fares from a touch screen kiosk to be installed by the Bidhannagar police in the airport premises.
