The Mokokchung district administration in Nagaland has approved an alternative road from Mokokchung to Dimapur which would pass through Mangmetong village in Mokokchung district, Sanis in Wokha district and to Dimapur. The project was approved in the monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board held on June 7.

‘Developers can’t use toll money to widen highways’
The Union Highway Ministry, while favouring a proposal to restructure premium paid by developers to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has put in a few caveats. In the tweaked proposal, the Ministry has suggested that the premium paid by a developer during the initial years cannot be lower than the toll revenue collected from that highway stretch. The developer cannot use toll revenues to widen the highway, said a source.
Kerala govt to take up Rs100 bn road projects
The Kerala state cabinet cleared the proposed road or flyover projects across the state under an ambitious Rs 10,000-crore programme. The state government would create a Road Development Fund Board to undertake the projects. The board would implement the projects by taking loan, which would be guaranteed by the state government
Gujarat has half of completed PPP projects in ports sector

The Karnataka government is to bring pressure on the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to complete the signal free elevated road to Bangalore International Airport (BIA) at the earliest. Members in the State Legislature on June 11 raised a hue and cry over the inordinate delay in completing the elevated stretch on the 22-kilometre BIA Road.
